Our Client, a leading manufacturer of Protective Relay Panels, Medium Voltage Switchgear and Metal Control Buildings for the Utility Power Industry, has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer in their Fontana, CA facility.

Job Description
They are seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer from NED-UET, UET-Lahore, NUST or GIKI to join their Electrical Engineering Team to support the growth of their Medium Voltage Switchgear business.

Position Requirements:

• Direct electrical design experience in a company engaged in the design and manufacture of Medium Voltage Switchgear (5kV-38kV)
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years substantial and direct  experience on Medium Voltage Switchgear  projects
• Ability to generate a switchgear line-up drawing based on customer furnished single line diagrams and specifications.
• Ability to specify power circuit breakers, current/potential transformers and other switchgear equipment. It is expected that candidate will have substantial and detailed knowledge of power circuit breakers and other switchgear elements.
• Reasonable knowledge of protective relay operation and familiarity with SEL, GE  or other protective relays.
• Ability to work with mechanical engineering to fully perform bus design. Experience with transfer bus design is necessary
• Good understanding and direct experience with manufacturing processes associated with switchgear line-ups
• Substantial experience using AutoCAD.
• Good working knowledge of IEEE and ANSI specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and highly detail oriented. Good organizational skills
• Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• A positive can-do attitude and a team player.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is a must.
• Must be hands on with good analytical capability.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Word & Excel.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Review and generate detailed Bills of Materials from customer furnished specifications and drawings.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers of switchgear equipment. Review quotes for correctness of response to the requirements.
• The candidate will be required to generate detailed schematic and wiring drawings from customer supplied guidance schematic.
• Perform equipment selection such as relays, transformers and other equipment.
• Work with switchgear manufacturers to select proper switchgear equipment.
• Perform power testing of protective relay panels and medium voltage switchgear line-ups.
• The candidate shall be responsible for running their own projects and meeting budgetary and schedule requirements.
• Complete other tasks given by the Electrical Engineer Manager or other members of Management.
• Work with Electrical Engineers and Customers.

Salary:

• Verifiable salary history required.
