Job Description

• Design and document database architecture.
• Data Modeling.
• Design Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform
• Build database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions
• Set up data sharing and disk partitioning
• Develop database utilities and automated reporting
• Create shell scripts for task automation
• Create, test and execute data management languages
• Analyse and sustain capacity and performance requirements
• Analyse, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency
• Monitor systems and platforms for availability.
• Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
• Restore and recover corrupted databases
• Install and test upgrades and patches
• Implement security and encryption
• Provide 24/7 support for critical situations
• Evaluate and recommend new database technologies

Job Requirements

• Experience and/or knowledge with large scale clustering, migrations, load balancing, and high availability environments
• Experience with SQL 2005 / 2008, SQL 2008 Developer & Enterprise, Transact SQL (TSQL), and SQL high availability technologies.
• Able to create modifications and constructions, including stored procedures, views and triggers
• Must know capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Must have knowledge of clustering the SQL Servers.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a SQL DBA in an enterprise environment
• Must have extensive experience with data warehousing, data modeling and data architecture.
• Excellent planning, time management, communications, decision-making, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to perform under high-pressure situations
• The ability to identify and analyze a problem, propose solutions, anticipate future problem areas before initiating action and implementing solutions
• Related certifications preferred
