Job Description
Areas of Responsibility
To plan and execute planned preventive maintenance of Automation equipment by meeting demands of the site.
To maintain the integrity of the Process Software by monitoring software being entered on the system and regular archiving to backup.
To assist the project team in all automation related issues by liaising with external resources as required.
To ensure compliance to Quality procedures by meeting Site target for continuous improvement.
To ensure adequate skills to meet sites present and future needs by identifying and planning staff development.
To ensure full implementation of Safety systems and safe practices of work by continually upgrading safety awareness and practices within the team.
To adhere to finance procedures by controling the Automation spares and expenditure.
Assume role of Sr. Engineering Manager as required
Activities:
Recommend additions/changes to PPM tasks/schedule
Conduct review of equipment failures
Conduct review of PPM backlog
Attend meetings as appropiate with Div.Eng/staff/service supplier
Ensure all equipment used for calibration is registered and calibrated on time
Compare all Accos paracode source files with Integrator A40 hexadecimal files
Verify And Complete workorders (TECO)
Monitor the Automation Software logbook daily
Weekly backup CD for archive purposes
Ensure a copy of all Machine PLC’s are up to date
Investigate and correct software related breakdowns
Discuss/monitor and make changes agreed by plant change approval form.
Attend Fat testing in /APV Riyadh/APV Denmark
Attend Project meetings
Assist in all Automation Projects
Make reccommendations for automated process control equipment
Attend Engineering Monthly Quality meeting
Assist in Automation audit
Assist/investigate NCN’s received by Automation
Assist/investigate into quality failures as appropriate
Review and recommend training to improve skill levels
Adhere to training plan as agreed by Div.Eng. and HRD
Advise on contract renewals
Interview for recruitment when required
Make reccomendations for selection of staff
Coaching of staff
Mentoring trainee manager’s when required
Co Chair Departmental (Process Maintanance/Automation) Health & Safety meeting
Attend Engineering 3 monthly meeting
Assist in annual audits when required
Review and report on departmental accidents
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Essential :
Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Supplementary qualification in instrumentation / electronics.
Desirable
Additional qualification in electrical/mechanical process control.
Experience:
Essential responsibilities executed (Generic Description):
Minimum of 08 years experience in a similar role in a multi-product dairy / food environment.
Detailed knowledge of process and packing control systems.
Detailed knowledge of implementing and maintaining advanced automation systems and controls.
Desirable responsibilities (Generic Description)
Detailed knowledge of implementing and managing planned preventative maintenance systems.
Familiar with PM/TQM
